Barcelo Costa Cancun, Hotel Review
The four star Barcelo Costa Cancun is popular with Brits and has some great deals thanks to the large allocation of rooms that First Choice / Thomson have. With 350 rooms, this is a medium sized hotel by Cancun standards (Moon Palace has over 2000 rooms!) and is best suited to couples and groups.
The large and spacious rooms at the Barcelo Costa Cancun are well regarded by previous guests for their size, fully functioning air conditioning and nice bathrooms. Mini bar is included in the all inclusive

“We stayed at Barcelo Costa Cancun for three weeks in August 2009 and got a great deal through Thomson. Best bits – nice beach, the 3 speciality restaurants, large room, cocktails and just the fact that Cancun is awesome! Not so good – buffet bit repetitive, not enough sunbeds at the pool. All in all a fantastic holiday and would love to go again”
“Booked through sunshine who rated the hotel five star. We don’t think it deserves five star but the official rating 4 star is about right. Myself and my wife had a superb (one week) holiday at the Barcelo Costa, the service exceeded expectations, drinks were better than expected too and the large pool was great. We used the local buses for $1 a ride which we found to be excellent and also took the trips to Isla Mujeres and Chichen Itza. Nightlife in Cancun is of course amazing and Coco Bongos is a must”
